About load.tw
load.tw is a multimedia sharing platform made in Taiwan, designed for everyone who has a story to tell. Whether it's a photo, a video, or a link — we want sharing to feel easy, free, and never compromise your privacy.
Our Story
load.tw began with a simple frustration. A weekend. Family photos to send to older relatives. And the same old problem: Google Drive asks them to sign in, LINE compresses everything in half, Imgur is buried in ads and English, Dropbox wants a download.
Surely, we thought, there must be an easier way. A single page — drop in a photo, a video, or a long URL, get a clean short link, send it to anyone, and they just open it. No account. No compression. No drama.
That idea turned into a few months of late nights and weekends. And eventually, it turned into load.tw — a platform we wanted to exist, so we built it.
What the Platform Offers
load.tw is three tools in one:
- An image host. For photographers, travelers, and anyone who wants to share photos without watching them melt into pixels.
- A video host. For vlog clips, tutorial snippets, event footage — things too personal for YouTube but too large for LINE.
- A URL shortener. For anyone who needs a clean, short link to drop into Instagram bio, Threads, Dcard, or anywhere a long link would look ugly.
No registration. No app download. No fees. Open your browser, drag a file in, and thirty seconds later you have a link you can send to anyone, anywhere. It's meant to feel that simple, because sharing should be that simple.
What We Believe
A few things we believe deeply, and try to keep honest about:
Sharing shouldn't be complicated. A photo, a video, a link — it should take thirty seconds, not thirty minutes.
What you upload is yours. Not ours, not an advertiser's, not a data broker's. We don't sell your content. We don't train AI on your photos. We don't even look at them.
Free should mean free. No "free for 30 days, then $9.99 a month." No "up to 500 MB, then locked." No fine print, no upsells, no guilt trips.
Beautiful is not a luxury. A free tool can still be elegant. The color of a button, the curve of a card, the rhythm of a loading animation — these matter, even when nobody's paying.
Taiwan deserves its own platform. Most of the internet is run out of Silicon Valley. We think there's room for one that speaks your language, respects your privacy, and was built by people who live here.
Our Commitments to You
These aren't just pretty words — they're how we've chosen to run this platform, even when it would be easier (or more profitable) to do otherwise.
- Free, forever. Not a trial, not a freemium, not "free for small files." Always free, for everyone, without asterisks.
- Your files stay your files. We don't compress them. We don't re-encode them. What you upload is exactly what your friends will see.
- Expiry means expiry. Set "7 days" and your content is actually deleted in 7 days — not "hidden" behind a paywall, not archived for our AI training. Really deleted.
- No invisible tracking. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no fingerprinting scripts. We're not selling a single byte of your visitor data to anyone.
- Transparent data handling. Everything we do with data is written in plain language in our privacy policy. No legalese buried in PDFs.
- Written by humans, for humans. Every help article, every guide, every error message — handwritten in Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese. No machine translation shortcuts.
Who Uses load.tw?
Honestly — a bit of everyone. But here are some of the faces we had in mind while building:
- The creator who wants their Instagram bio to open a beautiful portfolio, not a chaotic Linktree.
- The freelance designer sending drafts to clients, wanting the ability to set a password and an expiry date so the "preview link" doesn't leak to competitors.
- The photographer sharing a wedding album with the family — without asking grandma to create a Google account just to see it.
- The journalist at a breaking-news scene, needing to send thirty photos to the editor right now, from a phone, without an office VPN.
- The parent wanting the cousins overseas to see the kid's graduation video without paying for Dropbox.
- The Dcard / Threads poster whose story needs a full-quality photo set, not a compressed LINE preview.
- The developer needing a quick screenshot link to paste into a GitHub issue, without a login popup.
- You, probably, if you've read this far.
What's Next
We're a small team, so we move at human speed rather than startup speed. Some of the things we're working on (or dreaming about) for the months ahead:
- An official LINE BOT — send a photo, get a short link back, without ever leaving LINE.
- An iOS app — one tap to share from your photo library.
- An open API — so developers can build their own integrations.
- Better auto-generated thumbnails for albums and galleries.
- More languages — starting with Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai.
If you want to see the complete list, check our roadmap page. If there's something you wish existed, tell us — we read every message.

About the Design
We believe a free tool doesn't have to look like a free tool. Every page, every button, every transition is made by hand — because when something is pleasant to use, you forget it's there, and you can focus on what you actually wanted to share.
A few things we've quietly poured time into:
- Five themes — Light, Dark, Midnight Blue, Forest Green, Rose. Pick whichever fits your mood today.
- A dark mode that isn't just inverted colors — Tuned for OLED screens and long evenings.
- Mobile-first, not mobile-afterthought — The upload flow is designed for a phone held in one hand while the other hand holds a coffee.
- No frameworks, no bloat — We hand-wrote the CSS. That means the site loads fast, even on a 4G connection in a rural train station.
- No dark patterns — No fake close buttons, no "Are you SURE you want to leave?" modals, no cookie banners that pretend "X" means "accept."
About Privacy
If you had to remember only one thing about us, let it be this: we don't watch you.
We don't install Google Analytics. We don't embed Facebook or Instagram pixels. We don't fingerprint your browser. We don't even store the IP addresses of people who visit your shared links — just the country (so you can see "hey, someone from Japan opened this"), and whether they were on a phone or a desktop.
Passwords you set on a share are hashed, not stored. Meaning: even we can't read them. If you forget your share password, we can't recover it either. That's the trade-off we picked, because we'd rather you have privacy than convenience.
When a share expires, it's really gone. Not "hidden from your dashboard but kept on our server for AI training" — actually deleted, from the cloud, for good.
The full details are in our privacy policy, written in human language, not legal boilerplate.
About the Team
load.tw is built and maintained by a small team based in Taiwan. No venture capital, no corporate backer, no shareholders to please. Just a few people who love the internet and believe a tool can quietly make somebody's day a little easier.
If you've ever emailed us, the person who replied was really one of us. If you've ever seen a new feature go live, one of us wrote it, tested it, and pushed it at midnight. The service is small, but it's made with care. We think you can feel that.
Made with care in Taiwan 🇹🇼
Thank You for Reading
If you've made it all the way down here — thank you. We know About pages are rarely read in full. In a time where more and more of the internet is controlled by a handful of giant companies, taking a few minutes to learn about a small, independent platform from Taiwan means a lot to us.
If you like what we're doing, the best support you can offer is to use load.tw, tell a friend, and share something beautiful.
